One of the principle features of a Blanc Vert holiday has to be the food and wine. Our chefs provide some of the highest quality meals in the region.

The food is rarely rivalled in a chalet and is one of the main reasons that so many of our guests return year after year. We ensure that our menus are always evolving to suit the requirements of the guests, the seasonality of produce and to surprise our returning guests. Just as much care goes in to the menus for the younger guests* who can be the most selective in their tastes. We always try to use the information provided to us to cater for everyone. With experience in the catering industry all around Europe helps us to constantly adapt our menus and cater for special dietary requirements each week.

Your daily eating arrangements

Breakfast

The day begins with a choice of continental breakfast or your favourites from our daily breakfast menu. The continental choices include cereals, fruit, yoghurt, bread and preserves, fruit juices, tea and coffee. For a more substantial start to the day you can choose from the options on our daily hot-breakfast menu for items such as; sweet or savoury filled crepes, scrambled eggs, bacon and tomatoes, Scandinavian waffles, French toast, porridge and much more.

Breakfast is served between 8am and 9am

Afternoon Tea

On your return to the chalet after a long day's skiing you will find a delicious afternoon tea waiting for you. You will get the chance throughout the week to sample homemade cakes, such as devils food cake, pear drizzle cake and orange layer cake, with daily favourites: bread and preserves, tea and coffee.

Afternoon tea is served between 4pm and 6pm

Evening Meal

The evening meal is the highlight of the day, as any of our previous guests will testify. Three fantastic courses await you. Tempting starters, luxurious main courses and delicious desserts can be followed by with freshly made coffee.

Evening meal is served at 6:30pm for children up to 13 and from 8pm for adults

Sample menu:

Traditional salad Savoyarde with poached quails eggs, home cured crisp pancetta and locally made Tomme de Savoie. Roast loin of Venison served with duck pate, parsnip and saffron mousse and rich crushed almond dauphinoise. Trio of mini orange, coffee and dark chocolate fondants served with home made pistachio and vanilla ice cream.

* Do not forget that if your child is between 2 and 13 years inclusive they will automatically be catered for with different child friendly menus. Should you wish any child over 9 years old to eat with the adults this is possible.

Gourmet week

Only available for bookings where your group will fill the whole chalet. You will receive the same superb standard of cooking as you would normally in a Blanc Vert Chalet. However...

For breakfast you will have a choice between the normal excellent continental breakfast or a full English breakfast six days a week (continental is still available on our staff day off).

For afternoon tea you will have the normal excellent choice of cakes, fresh bread and preserves with the additional choice of fresh pastries and vin-chaud available every afternoon.

For your evening meal not only will you savour the excellence of the chef's culinary talents as any Blanc Vert guest would, you also have the added luxury of a fourth course of canapés and an additional choice of wine.

Afterwards, why not help yourselves to some extra special chocolates with your coffee, fresh from the cafetiere, all washed down with a spot of Sherry or Port or Brandy?

Price: Supplement £55.00 per adult per week and £35.00 per child per week

Packed Lunches

If you're keen to get as much skiing in as possible and want to miss the lunchtime queues, we will be delighted to arrange packed lunches on any day. These consist of a "baguette" with a choice of fillings, fresh fruit, a chocolate bar and a cold drink. Our packed lunch is also popular with people returning home at the end of the week that need a snack en route. Please pre-book your packed lunch before your arrival.

Price: £7 per adult per day / £5 per child per day

Special Dietary Requirements

If you have any special dietary needs, be it vegan, vegetarian or if you have any allergies, we will be only too happy to adapt our menu to suit you. However, to ensure that our staff provide for your special requirements during your stay you must inform us at the time of booking to ensure that we can meet with your needs.

Children's meals

All children receive a great 2-course meal each evening as part of the price of the holiday. We recognise that all children are quite different and that this sometimes does not suit our young guests. Therefore, if you would like your child to join you with adult meals in the evening we will be happy to arrange this for you. This option is only available to children 9 years and over.

Price: £50.00 per child per week supplement

Staff Day Off

To give our staff a well earned break, a mid weekday off will be the only day of the week when we ask you to look after yourselves for the evening. Breakfast and afternoon tea will be set out for you and in the evening you can take the opportunity to try one of the local restaurants.
